Hello, bonjour !

I'm Patrick, a German born in France. At 53 years old, I started Fontaineblhostel. Why ? Well, I LOVE Fontainebleau forest, I boulder a little (blue circuit level...) and enjoy hiking.

I stayed in hostels, mainly abroad, and dreamed opening my own near Fontainebleau, which I thought lacked this kind of accomodation. I had a good job, but shareholder change made me quit with a fair compensation. I invested all in reconstructing an old house, run by nuns for over 150 years (school, infirmary, hospital).

Unfortunately, I my cancer got out of control. My daughter Natacha secunded by my wife Patricia are taking over Fontaineblhostel, and I'm fully confident they will be up to the job ! I wanted to thank them and all the guests I had the pleasure to welcome during all these years.​

hostel welcomes solo travelers, families, large and small groups alike. With mixed dormitories accommodating up to 36 guests. Whether you’re traveling alone or with a large crew, our comfortable dorms and shared facilities provide a friendly and practical stay near Fontainebleau.
